The Armed Forces Flag Day is a special day dedicated towards collection of funds from people of India, for the welfare of serving defence personnel, battle casualities, resettlement of ex-servicemen and their dependents.
It is observed on December 7, every year, from 1949 onwards. Funds are collected from the general public for the welfare of the Indian Armed Forces personnel by issuing token flags. Over the years, it has become a tradition to commemorate this day to salute the brave soldiers of India.
