  •      Industrial Training Institute ITI Arab-ki-Sarai is one of the oldest        & biggest Govt. ITI in Delhi established in the year 1961 with the        seating capacity more than 1800 trainees.   
  •      The institute is imparting industrial training in 27 various        Engineering & Non-Engineering trades.   
  •     The institute has a passed percentage of more than 80% in first        attempt.  
  • The institute has on & off-campus placement rate of more     than 75%.

    1. UPGRADATION OF TRAINING FACILITIES THROUGH MOU

       
  •         Automobile Skill Enhancement Centre        : - The institute has initiated steps for upgradation of automobileworkshop of ITI AKS. Administration of M/s        Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) agreed to tie up        with ITI AKS under CSR activity same as ITI Pusa. A triparty MoU        between M/s MSIL, DTTE and M/s JJ Impex and quadripartite MoU between        MSIL, M/s JJ Impex & M/s Axalta Ltd. were signed on dated06.02.2017 to develop aAutomobile Skill Enhancement Centre in ITI AKS.        Sh. Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, inaugurate the Automobile Skill Enhancement Centre on        25th May 2017 in the        august presence of                    Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa Managing Director and CEO, MSIL & Sh. Manoj            Kumar-Director, TTE, Delhi.          
  •         M/s Siemens India Limited         -         The institute has received various equipments from M/s Siemens Limited        as per the MOU signed between DTTE (HQ) & M/s Siemens for the        trades of Electrician and Instrument Mechanic. M/s Siemens has also        provided latest software for CAD-CAM, useful for the trades of        Machinist, Tool & Die and Turner.   

    · Siemens India Ltd. has set up the lab & Inaugural Ceremony on dated:-    8th September 2015. Training is imparting for trainees of Electrician &    Instument Mech. Trades, benefitting approx 150 trainees every year.

       
  •         M/s Indraprashtha Gas Ltd         -        As per the MoU signed between M/s Indraprashtha Gas Ltd & DTTE on        dated 12.01.2016.   

· M/s IGL has set up “    Gas Plumbing Training Centre at ITI AKS” on    dated:-20-10-2016, Training is imparting on            "Gas Plumbing Workshop for City Gas Distribution Industry"        for the trainees of Fitter & Plumber Trade, benefiting more than 125    trainees of Fitter & Plumber trade every year.

       
  •         MoU’s with M/s Daikin India Pvt. Ltd.:-         M/s Daikin India Pvt. Ltd. entered in to MoU in July 2016. As per the        terms of MoU training facilities in the field of air-conditioning were        to be upgraded in Two ITIs & One Polytechnic. It was observed &        felt that though the establish CoE are serving their purpose but to        provide hands on dismantling and assembling of units, details study of        different parts etc. training on the machines, a workshop may also be        established. Now along with CoE, a state of the art Air-conditioning        workshop was established by DAIKIN India Pvt. Ltd. in the institute        with an estimated cost of 2.5 million INR. Air-conditioning Machines        with latest technology & Trainers with latest knowledge of        technology were provided by Daikin. More than 50 trainees of this        institute will be benefitted every year. Daikin has also selected 23        apprentices from ITI AKS.                    The inauguration of Air- conditioning workshop was inaugurated on 4                th                     August 2017 by Smt. Punya Salila Srivastava, IAS, Secretary            Training & Technical Education, in the august presence of Mr.            Jiro Tomita Member of the Board & Sr. Executive officer Daikin            Industries Ltd. & Sh. Manoj Kumar – Director TTE.          

    M/s Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL)-     As per the MoU signed between M/s Maruti Suzuki India Ltd & DTTE on    dated 16.3-2017

    · MSIL has set up Auto Mobile Skill Enhancement centre & Auto Body    Paint and Auto Body Repair workshop on 24-05-2017, benefiting more than 125    trainees every year.

    MoU’s with M/s Hero Moto Corp. Ltd.:-     M/s Hero Moto Corp. Ltd. entered in to MoU in December 2018. As per the    terms of MoU training facilities in the field of Mechanic Two & Three    Wheeler trade were to be upgraded in ITI AKS.            The institute has signed MoU with M/s Hero Moto Corp. of the trade of        Mechanic Motor Cycle. M/s Hero Moto Corp. has created state of the art        training center for the trade in the institute on its own expenses.   

    MoU’s with M/s Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(MSIL):-    Recently M/s Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. , the institute has    signed another MoU with MSIL for establishing the future vehicle’s    (Electric & Hybrid).

    MoU’s with M/s Jaquar Foundation:-     The institute is also signing another MoU with M/s Jaquar for up gradation    of Plumber trade.

    2. DUAL SYSTEM OF TRAINING

    Implementing DGT’s Dual System of Training (DST)     :-     ITI AKS is first institute of Delhi, who have implementing DGT’s DST    Scheme. The institute initiated to implement the scheme for the trade of            Tool & Die Maker (Press Tools and Jigs & Fixtures)        presently running under the CTS scheme affiliated with NCVT. The jointly    efforts of this Institute and Wadhwani Foundation and            M/s Spark MINDA Group, Greater Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar        Pradesh        have agreed to be an Industrial partner for conducting DST for ensuingAcademic session 2017-18. In the process & MoU had been signed on8th August     2017 between DTTE & Minda Corporation    Limited for DST in trade of Tool & Die (PT&JF).

    Dual System of Training (DST):-        As per the MoU signed on dated:- 8-8-2017 between DTTE & M/s Minda    Corporation Ltd. under DST scheme in the trade of Tool & Die (PT &    JF) with the support of Wadhwani Foundation.Dual System of Training to    impart training to students of ITI AKS undergoing approved courses. Under    the DST scheme trainee is that 60% of Practical training shall be carried    out in an industry. A stipend equivalent to 70% of minimum wages for semi    skilled worker will be paid to apprentices.

    3. CAREER COUNSELING & PLACEMENT

    Career Counseling:     -     Butterflies an organization working with the most vulnerable groups of    children, especially street and working children since 1989. All their    programs are charged with the vision of a world where every child is fed,    clothed & housed in a caring family environment; every child has access    to quality education & healthcare; every child is free from    exploitation & abuse; every child can speak without fear; every child’s    voice is heard; and every child is loved & respected regardless of    race, religion, caste or gender. A group of 20 children's from theButterflies Society was visited in this institute on 16    th May 2017 for career counseling of ITI    graduates.

    Etasha Society         Etasha Society has completed two module of “Capacity Building in    Employability Skill Training Program at ITI AKS in the month of March    /April 2017 for the CI/CCI of various ITI’s. Etasha Society providing job    specific Soft Skill for 250 trainees every year & training to trainers    since 2013.

    United Nations Development Programme (UNDP):-     As per the MoU signed between UNDP & DTTE on dated    10.05.2016. The institute has initiated step with UNDP since June 2017. Theauthorities of UNDP agreeing to partner with us and running    “Abilities beyond skills curriculum” at ITI, AKS with a    pilot project batch of 25 trainees of RAC trade on a 30- 35 hours long life    skills curriculum.

    Disha Education Society     is associated with United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) for its    flagship program DISHA, which is a three-year partnership between the India    Development Foundation (IDF), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)    and Xyntéo, supported by the IKEA Foundation, which is guiding one million    women in India to learn employable skills and connect them with income    opportunities. This program is aimed to have more participation from women    candidates in taking apprenticeship in diverse sectors. A workshop was    conducted for awareness cum registration process for female students &    facilitates them for apprenticeship.

    4. OTHERS IMPORTANT EVENTS & CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES.

    Dual Vocational Education & Training    : - Arranged Five days Siemens domain Training Programme of Dual Vocational    Education & Training in Electrical trade in 2019 at ITI AKS for the    Instructors of Electrician and Wireman trade of all Govt. ITIs of Delhi.

    Providing assistance to our girl’s trainees:     -     Disha, a NGO aims to improve the lives of one million women in India by    helping them learn marketable skills, connecting them with income    opportunities and assisting women to become economically self-sufficient. Aworkshop regarding Apprenticeship System was conducted on dated    28th June 2017 in our    Institute for senior female ITI AKS trainees by Disha NGO (UNDP). Dr. Parul    from Disha and her team addressed our trainees in this connection and    collected forms duly filled by the girls to register themselves with the    Apprenticeship Portal. Registration on this portal will be helpful for the    girls to get job opportunities of various trades.

    HIDA- JAPAN Training:     -     In Association with MSIL arranged 5 days Training by HIDA- JAPAN at ITI AKSfrom 13th to 17    th November 2017 for Automobile Trainees    of this institute. Trainer from Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, Mr.    Minagawa San and Mr. Asai San conducted this training programme.

    A Workshop on "Crime Check India:     -     A workshop by Delhi Police in collaboration with "Crime Check India" wasconducted in the Institute for all the girls trainees on dated    28th November 2019.    S.H.O, Hazrat Nizamuddin Police Station also attended the workshop along    with the local police personnel deputed to the beat. In the workshop, the    Crime Check India volunteers sensitized the girls and trained them for self    defence and their social rights. The girls were also informed about the    present laws favoring the modesty of the girls .The girls were also given    demonstration for various common martial art techniques, Which they can    easily utilize to safeguard themselves in case of any eventuality. The    girls enjoyed the session and made use of the workshop by actively    participating in the activities.

    Arranged Awareness Workshop:     - Arranged Awareness workshop by M/s CEQUIN NGO regarding    major issues i.e girls’ discrimination, Control on mobility,    limited/selected access to opportunities in terms of education and career,domestic violence etc. on dated 28th     September 2017 for the Female staff and girls trainees of    ITI AKS. All the girls were sensitized about major issues concerning them    and the focus of the workshop was to spread awareness about Discrimination    against girls, Control on mobility, Limited/selected access to    opportunities in terms of education/career and Domestic violence. Girl’s    trainees from various trades attended the Programme with full enthusiasm.    The girls were also registered to the "Pankh Portal" for further career    guidance by M/s CEQUIN.
