  • Total Population – 19.2 million (2018 Estimates),

  • First case of HIV in Delhi was reported in 1988.

    NACO HIV Estimates 2019 Delhi is having a prevalence of 0.41% amongst 15-49 year population with 67940 persons having the infection in Delhi. The estimate for annual new HIV infections in Delhi are 2999 and death with HIV are estimated at 1100 per year in Delhi.

  • NACP-4 in 2013 categorised four of its districts as moderate prevalence (“B” category) districts .

  • ICTC Data: Total HIV +ve detected from 2003-08: 31,295

    - 2018-19 : Total General clients Counselled & Tested: 4,54,097 (HIV +ve detected- 6478)

                       Total Antenatal women Counselled & Tested: 2,84,580 (HIV +ve detected -306)

    - 2017-18 : Total General clients Counselled & Tested: 4,39,868 (HIV +ve detected- 6249)

                       Total Antenatal women Counselled & Tested: 2,60,440 (HIV +ve detected- 315)


  • Total high risk population - FSW-45466, MSM- 18145, TG/Hijra- 7173, IDU- 12698   [2014, site validation]

  • HIV detection rate in STI clinic attendees- 0.30% (2018-19)

  • No. of new HIV +ve patients Registered in HIV Care at ART Centers in 2018-19 : 5786

  • Total no. of PLHAs currently under active care at ART centres (31st Mar. 2019) : 32130
